Sunil Benimadhu has been in office as Chief Executive of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM) since May 1998 after having held various positions in the Securities Industry. He has played an instrumental role in uplifting the operational, technical and regulatory infrastructure of the SEM and contributed to its emergence as one of the leading Exchanges in Africa. Sunil is the Chairman of Global Finance Mauritius, the apex body of private sector operators in the Financial Services Industry in Mauritius.

Sunil was elected in October 2014 for a three-year term on the Board of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), an association of the World’s leading Stock Exchanges and has been re-elected in September 2017 for a further three-year term. Sunil was the President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) an association of 28 Exchanges operating on the continent, from August 2010 to November 2014. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE), and the Chairman of the SADC Committee of Stock Exchanges (COSSE). Sunil is a regular speaker on emerging markets and on African markets in international stock exchange conferences.

Mr. Haruna Jalo-Waziri is an experienced Financial Markets Expert, his award-winning career spanned over twenty-five years in Capital Markets. He has vast experience in Deal Origination, Investment Management, Securities Trading and Regulation.

He started his career at the Nigeria Stock Exchange and subsequently moved to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the apex regulatory organization of the Capital Markets in Nigeria. He worked with Afrinvest West Africa (formerly SECTRUST) and Kakawa Discount House Ltd where he started the Asset Management Department, which he later transformed to a full fledge company “Kakawa Asset Management Limited” (now FBN Merchant Bank). He later joined the services of First Alliance Pension & Benefits Limited (Now ARM Pensions Limited) in partnership with Mcube South Africa.

In 2007, he was appointed MD/CEO of UBA Stockbrokers Limited, a subsidiary of United Bank for Africa (UBA Plc) which he successfully made one of the top 5 securities trading companies in Nigeria. He thereafter became the MD/CEO of UBA Asset Management Ltd.

Haruna Jalo-Waziri was appointed the Executive Director, Capital Markets in 2012 with a primary responsibility for the overall capital market developments. He implemented key initiatives such as; Capital markets partnership agreement with the London Stock Exchange Group, Developed the Sovereign Green Bond, Introduction of Federal Government Retail Savings Bond, Launched the NSE Premium Board, MSCI Index Partnership- GICS Adoption and the 1st dual listing on the NSE and LSE Main Board amongst others.

Prior to joining Stanlib, he served as the Chief Executive of SBG Securities Limited (SBGS), a member of the Nairobi, Uganda and Rwandan Securities Exchanges and a wholly owned
subsidiary of the Stanbic Holdings Plc. At SBG, he led the strategic re-positioning of the business into a top tier regional investment bank. During his tenure, SBGS routinely ranked as the top broker on the three regional Exchanges.

Mr. Geoffrey Otieno Odundo is the Chief Executive of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc Limited. Mr. Odundo, an accomplished Investment Banker he has been in the financial services sector for the last 27 years, 21 of which have been in the Capital Markets in various senior roles in asset management, corporate finance and securities trading. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Odundo was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kingdom Securities Limited. He was instrumental in the setting up of Co-op Trust Investment Services, Co-op Consultancy Services Limited and Kingdom Securities Limited.
Mr Odundo has advised on a number of corporate finance mandates in both the public and private sectors; he has also managed key mandates in the asset management industry. Mr. Odundo has contributed to the growth of the Capital Markets in his previous role in the Kenya Association of Investment Banks, the Kenya Bureau of Standards and on the Board of the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
He is currently a Director of the Central Depository and Settlement Corporation Limited (Ltd) a director of the Association of the African Stock Exchanges (ASEA) and a Council member of the Institute of Certified Financial Analysts (ICIFA); he is also a trustee of the NSE Fidelity Guarantee Funds.
Mr. Odundo holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the United States International University (USIU) and a Degree in Mathematics and Economics and is a holder of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) - Strathmore Business School.

Mr. Wyckliffe Shamiah, is the CMA Chief Executive of Capital Markets Authority, Kenya with effect from 20 November 2020. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Shamiah served as the Acting Chief Executive from 01 January 2020. Before that, Mr. Shamiah served as the Director Market Operations at the Authority since November 2011 and has held multiple senior positions in market supervision, research, financial analysis and compliance at the Authority over a career of in excess of 23 years. During this period, Mr. Shamiah was been the nominee of the Capital Markets Authority to the Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya for more than 11 years and a representative of the Authority to the Financial Stability Board Regional Consultative Committee for Sub-Saharan Africa. Regionally, he has played a major role in development of capital markets having contributed immensely in capacity building programmes in Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. He is the current Chair of Association of Securities Markets Regulators in East Africa (EASRA) as well as its Market Supervision and Risk Management Sub-Committee. He sits on various boards including Insurance Regulatory Authority, Retirement Benefits Authority and Vision 2030 Delivery Board. He also sits on the International Organizations of Securities Commissions(IOSCO) Board, representing Growth and Emerging Markets Committee.
